Rabindrasangeet in 100 voices - Rehearsal in Chennai

 Rabindranath and his songs, Rabindrasangeet is every Bengali's colour of their culture, essence of their values.

Chennai has many Bengalis living their life in a different geographical and cultural world here.

A group of people, friends had taken an initiative to sing Rabindrasangeet in a group, a large group rather, counting nearly 80. They will sing 20 songs all together, once, on stage.

To do this, with so many members to be in sync, they are practicing for months. This session is one of them.

Pallavaram Friday market, 2 hours in the morning

 Pallavaram, just beside Chennai airport, has a 2 km straight road in between the military campaus and railway track. This otherwise industrial use road on Friday morning becomes an orchestrated chaos with sellers selling their household to stolen items and buyers keep on negotiating till they can buy it almost for free even if they know ultimately that electronic item might not work at all. In between some fights happen, some pets change hands, some vegetable plucked from the backyard change their address and use.
