  ছাদে রাত নামে, হাওয়া নামে, কথা বলে হ্যালোজেন যেন চাঁদের বন্ধু,  বিকেল বা যৌবন কেমন ছিল? জানতে চায়। এভাবে কি সময় কাটে? হাঁটে দুর্বৃত্তরা, মিঠে আলোর মাঠে, এ ছাদের বাঁটে, জোছনা আলো দেয় শহরের ছায়াকে।

  সকালের দরজা খুলে শহরে বেড়িয়েছি পথে পথ ধরে, নগরে বন্দরে ঘাস বাষ্প আবছা ছবিতে ঘোড়া মুখ ডুবিয়ে, আমি কি তবে কলকাতায়, বাড়ীতে! আমার বাড়ী কোথায়, প্রশ্ন করেছিল কোন গান, সিগনাল পেরোতে ভুলেছিলাম। তারপর আর ঠিকানা চাইনি কারোওর কে জানে যাবো কার বাড়ী, কে খুলবে দরজা। পথ কেবল প্রশ্ন করেনা আর,  গা সওয়া পথচারী, কেউ স্থায়ী  কেউ পরযায়ী। দাগ কেটে দেশ বানালাম, সীমানা পেরোল আতঙ্ক, সীমানা নির্লজ্জ সীমানা তোমার আমার ধর্ম জুড়ে কেবল ক্ষমতার পরাধীনতা, ভয় পাঠায় সহজ রাস্তায় কিন্তু সেতো পথের মতো পথ নয়। আজ সকালে তাই শহর,  শহরের বাড়ী ছাড়াতে বেরিয়েছিলাম।  দেখো দেখি, পৌঁছলাম  নাকি! সুমন্ত  তেসরা জুন, ২০২৪

 I am n ew to Chennai. Recently, I have started to explore this city. Here are some images that I like and think that they represent essence of Chennai, a metro city who is equally eager to retain its fabric of culture, past, prestige, heritage, values. And at the same time the state and this city also accept that it has to to be economically self sufficient to retain their culture. Despite the usual language barrier for a non Tamilian face, I am finding the spirit of  Tamil culture is engrossing. Simplicity, value of being connected with roots and past to stand strong in front of future is all there to experience.
