Thoughts circling inside me
Here are thoughts that circles....
Having no work for the 2nd half…I start typing one day to spend it in a good way…
I think photography sometimes is art.
Art to me is an expression of emotion.
Photographs can express emotions, and sometimes fail to do so too.
Does that mean that when I say “WOW” seeing a photograph, it is an art? Is WOW for the content of the photograph or for the technique? Sometimes it is for the technique. I did that many times when I see solar eclipse shot having 12 suns in one shot and they are perfectly exposed.
Do you try to see composition in everything? Graphical balance, lines, curves, sketch like fastness in photographs? Yes, I do.
I still do not know why B/W is good but most of the good B/W photos attract my eyes. Why? Is it because it is simple, because lines, curves, shapes are more pronounced there than in colour shots.
Do you see photographs just the way you see a painting? Yes I do.
Do you compose a shot by eliminating things just the way you paint by eliminating unnecessary thoughts in your mind when you hold a pen on your fresh blank sheet? Yes I do.
Does photography has to be an art? I do not think so. It is required to be an evidence, document for most of the time. It can be pleasing to our eyes even when it is a document.
Is it possible to be a artless beauty? If I shoot Tajmahal in the early morning and change the shot in photo shop to depict its edges only without any colours and perspective, will it will become almost an engineering drawing? Will it still look beautiful without any expression, content and emotion. Is Tajmahal an object of art? To me it is, as I say WOW every time I stand before it and I become sad, happy, charged up depending on the light and time.
It would be lovely if you can share your thoughts.
Let me know if I bored you A LOT.

Very few people question their passions; for many it is just enough to like something and not know why they like it. For me, photography is a very strong visual medium, more than painting, because it captures time, like literally!! Painting, on the other hand can never become a subjective observation but an objective one... The "real" element in photography makes it so alluring. As for the reason for liking it: "a picture says a thousand words" and it is these thousand words that make up a story and it is the story that strikes me...
